We were very disturbed and saddened to read the news that legal proceedings against you by other Anglicans mean that you may soon be deprived of your property at St James and have to find alternative accommodation.

After the storm of a life lived in the heat of political controversy, there is a great calm.

The storm of conflicting opinions centres on the Mrs Thatcher who became a symbolic figure - even an "ism". But today the remains of the real Margaret Hilda Thatcher are here at her funeral service. Lying here, she is one of us, subject to the common destiny of all human beings.

The Christian community in Egypt right now is mourning and feels challenged in their own country, as some of them have said, “we have been here since the time of the Pharaohs, this is our country! We will not leave whatever happens

My dear Friends,

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Bravo!  The Anglican Communion needs a strong voice and a strong leader to turn us back to Jesus Christ and the faith once delivered to the saints.  It is precisely this faith that has been undermined and challenged by the unilateral actions of North American leaders from The Episcopal Church (TEC) and the Anglican Church of Canada (ACoC) by, among other things, consecrating actively practicing homosexual and lesbian bishops and authorizing same-sex blessings - contrary to the Bible, apostolic and catholic teaching, and the teaching of the Anglican Communion on human sexuality, marriage and holy orders (Lambeth Resolution 1.10 1998).

By Canon Phil Ashey

For more than a thousand years this country has to one degree or another sought to recognise that Jesus is the Son of God; by the ordering of its society, by its laws, by its sense of community. Sometimes we have done better, sometimes worse. When we do better we make space for our own courage to be liberated, for God to act among us and for human beings to flourish. Slaves were freed, Factory Acts passed, and the NHS and social care established through Christ-liberated courage. The present challenges of environment and economy, of human development and global poverty, can only be faced with extraordinary courage.

A selection of links to sermons preached by the leaders of the Church of England, Church of Ireland and Church in Wales this Christmas. Topics raised by the bishop of the Church of England, Church of Ireland, and Church in Wales ranged from Israeli policies in the occupied territories, reaching out to the poor and marginalized, conforming the church to the changing moral and social standards of society, and the mystery of the incarnation.

We are united with the Anglican Church in North America.

It must be said, and it must be lived, that we who are orthodox Anglicans, holding to the word of God and the testimony of Jesus, stand together. We are united. We will not divide. We will not break fellowship – the gospel does not allow us to. And we will do all things “to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:3)

We give thanks to our Lord for our brothers and sisters in the Anglican Church in North America.

My dear friends,

I announce with great joy that the Rev. Steve Breedlove of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, was consecrated bishop on Monday night, October 29, 2012.

This service of consecration said everything that needs to be said.

Dr. Todd Morris tells us about a plaque in an old English Church that reads, “In the year 1653 when all things sacred throughout the land were demolished or profaned, Sir Robert Shirley built this church, whose singular praise is this, to have done the best of things in the worst of times.” Remember that it was at a time when Anglican churches were being closed and Presbyterians were being harassed and persecuted. Yet in the midst of that…in the worst of times, Sir Robert Shirley did the best of things…he built a church! My brothers and sisters in Christ, it has fallen to us, to you and me, to do the best of things in this hour. It is for us to build our diocese and our parish churches.

Bishop’s Address—Special Convention November 17, 2012

All this might be what lies behind the question often raised at the deanery and parish forums I’ve been addressing—“Bishop, with whom will we affiliate?”  My answer has been quite simply, “For now—no one.”  As any wise pastor will tell you, if you been in a troubling, painful or dysfunctional relationship for a long period of time and then the marriage or relationship ends, you would be wise not to jump right away into the first one that comes along and tie the knot.  You’d be wise take your time.

Bishop’s Address—Special Convention November 17, 2012

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the founder and perfecter of our faith….”  Hebrews 12:1—2a

The national Episcopal Church and its loyalists in the Diocese of South Carolina will be held accountable for violating civil and canon law, Bishop Mark Lawrence has told the members of his diocese.

In a pastoral letter released on 15 Nov 2012 endorsed by 35 rectors and vicars, Bishop Lawrence urged members of the diocese to hold fast to the faith once delivered to the saints.  The crisis in the national Episcopal Church had been brought about by a perfect storm – a “convergence” of revisionist “theology, morality and polity”, he wrote, that has taken place over the past 25 years “within The Episcopal Church.”

Our proposal, while not intended to deny the honour due to Canterbury as an historic see, is an expression of the truth we hold as vital, that our identity as Anglicans stems first and foremost from adherence to the faith we confess.

I welcome the news that Bishop Justin Welby is to be the next Archbishop of Canterbury. I believe that his appointment should give hope to all of us who long to see renewal, reform and genuine unity.

We write to you as representatives to the Anglican Consultative Council (ACC-15), which has just concluded in Auckland NZ. We represent the Church of Nigeria and the Church of Kenya, approximately 31 million active and worshipping Anglicans within our Anglican Communion. We write in the spirit of Jude 3 to express our concerns about the directions taken by ACC-15.

... we are grieved that this meeting of the Anglican Consultative Council avoided the real crisis in the Anglican Communion.

What really happened in Auckland NZ at ACC-15 Oct 28-Nov 7, 2012

"Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints..." Jude 3

To our brothers and sisters in Christ, Anglicans everywhere,

Grace and Peace to you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our only Lord and Saviour!

Democracy can kill a society unless it is tempered with a respect for human rights and equality, the former Bishop of Rochester told a London audience last week in a forum devoted to “Christianity at a Crossroads in the Middle East.”

Speaking at All Souls Langham Place on 25 October 2012 at an event sponsored by the Middle Eastern Christian satellite television broadcaster SAT-7, Dr. Michael Nazir-Ali warned “democracy can mean the tyranny of the majority.”

As a result of the increased aggressiveness of the revisionists there are now those in every province and beyond who wish to stand with us and who need our help to stand for Christ: in Recife (Brazil), in South Carolina, in the Church of Scotland, in Ireland, in England, in Australia and many more. We received reports from various FCA affiliates and rejoice in their faithful witness in the face of tremendous pressure and were delighted to receive an application for the establishment of an FCA affiliate in Australia.

We were also reminded of the need for prayer for those who will gather in Auckland, New Zealand, for the meeting of the Anglican Consultative Council. In particular we prayed that they will avoid compromise and have the courage to declare boldly the Gospel of Jesus Christ that is good news for all people at all times and in all cultures.
