A "new day" for PEAR-USA

We are united with the Anglican Church in North America.

It must be said, and it must be lived, that we who are orthodox Anglicans, holding to the word of God and the testimony of Jesus, stand together. We are united. We will not divide. We will not break fellowship – the gospel does not allow us to. And we will do all things “to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:3)

We give thanks to our Lord for our brothers and sisters in the Anglican Church in North America.

My dear friends,

I announce with great joy that the Rev. Steve Breedlove of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, was consecrated bishop on Monday night, October 29, 2012.

This service of consecration said everything that needs to be said.

Anglican Province of Rwanda establishes North American missionary jurisdiction

The House of Bishops of the Anglican Province of Rwanda (PEAR) has established a Missionary District in North America.

The House of Bishops of the Anglican Province of Rwanda (PEAR) has established a Missionary District in North America. Meeting in Kigali on March 29, the bishops passed a resolution approving a petition from the PEARUSA Steering Team requesting the creation of the new jurisdiction. A charter for ministry is being developed by a joint team of Rwandan bishops and members of the Steering Team.

Status of resigned AMiA Bishops according to the Rwanda HOB

Today we wrote to those AMiA missionary bishops who resigned and asked that if they wish to continue in episcopal ministry within another Anglican jurisdiction, that they please inform us of that jurisdiction immediately so that we may translate them appropriately.

For the time being, all remaining AMiA clergy continue to have canonical residence within the PEAR. Any clergy who wish to withdraw their credentials are free to do so in writing. We encourage all North American clergy credentialed in the PEAR to join PEARUSA, which is our missionary district in North America, unanimously erected by our House of Bishops in our today’s meeting.

AMiA bishops break with Rwanda

Bishop Chuck Murphy has rejected the godly admonition of Archbishop Onesphore Rwaje and he and the members of the Anglican Mission in America (AMiA) House of Bishops have broken with the Church of Rwanda.

In a letter dated 5 Dec 2011, Bishop Murphy and the AMiA House of Bishops announced that the Lord “is now doing” a “new thing” and that its bishops had decided to reject the discipline and oversight of Anglican Church of Rwanda .
